Mark’s chosen charity – Environmental Justice Foundation

Mark has chosen to continue supporting his original charity for another year. The EJF works to protect the natural world while defending the fundamental human right to a secure environment. Through in-depth investigations, powerful reports and impactful films, they expose environmental destruction and human rights abuses around the globe. Their work directly targets decision-makers, helping to influence policy and legislation that creates lasting change for both people and planet.

By continuing his support, Mark is reinforcing his belief that real impact comes from sustained commitment — helping EJF continue its vital investigative and advocacy work.

Laurie’s chosen charity – Galapagos Conservation Trust

Laurie has also decided to continue supporting Galapagos Conservation Trust for another year. The GCT is the only UK-registered charity dedicated exclusively to conserving the Galapagos Islands — one of the most ecologically unique and vulnerable places on Earth. An extraordinary 80% of the islands’ land birds and 97% of mammals and reptiles are found nowhere else on the planet. Yet more than 80species are now endangered or critically endangered, making conservation work there both urgent and essential.

By continuing his support, Laurie is helping to protect one of the world’s most extraordinary ecosystems for future generations.

Ronnie’s chosen charity – The Wave Project

This year, Ronnie joins our 1% commitment with his chosen charity, The Wave Project. With 1 in 5 children experiencing mental health challenges — and teenage suicides having risen significantly in recent years — the need for effective, early intervention support has never been greater. The long-term effects of the pandemic alongside the cost-of-living crisis have had a profound impact on young people’s wellbeing. The Wave Project delivers an evidence-based Surf Therapy programme recognised by the NHS and local authorities. Over six weeks, children and young people learn to surf while engaging in peer mentoring and group support. The ocean becomes a powerful space for building resilience, confidence, connection and self-belief. Operating across Cornwall, Devon, Bristol, Dorset, Brighton, London, Scarborough, Tynemouth, Scotland and Northern Ireland, the charity works with schools, GPs, social workers and the NHS to reach those who need it most.

Ronnie was drawn to the charity’s empowering and practical approach — helping young people rebuild confidence and find strength through the healing power of the sea.

Anna’s chosen charity – Amazon Research Internacional

For her 1% for the Planet commitment, Anna has chosen Amazon Research Internacional (ARI) — a Peru-based non-profit uniting modern science with ancestral Amazonian knowledge to protect biodiversity and empower Indigenous leadership. This cause closely aligns with Anna’s previous support of Amazon-focused initiatives. Having spent time in the Amazon, she has witnessed first hand the extraordinary work local communities are doing to keep this vital ecosystem alive. It is a place of immense ecological and cultural importance —one that must survive for generations to come. Through initiatives such as mapping and protecting stingless bees, restoring degraded forests with medicinal and native plants, and advancing Indigenous-led conservation policy, ARI represents a powerful, community-driven approach to regenerating the Amazon and safeguarding its future for generations to come.
